New pickup recomendations..

    I have my trusty old km7 mk1 that is beat to death and she needs a new bridge pickup. I kinda dig the pegasus thats in it now but want something diff. I had a aftermath in there and hated it. I like clarity and tight bottom. Was thinking the Guitarmory foxbat might be cool my other seven has a nazgul and it works with the mahogony well and my 6 has a dimarzio dominion that im in love with...

    Any sugestions... Also no actives

    Regarding “lack of drive“: if you're still talking about the Aftermath, maybe there was something wrong with your wiring. I have a whole bunch of guitars and e.g. the Pegasus and Titan have significantly lower output...

    Nothing wrong with the wiring... It just isnt as gritty as i like. It was clear and tight but lacked in the drive to much for me.... But this isnt a aftermath debate....

    If you want gritty and relatively clear check out the duncan black winter or the guitarmory alnico8/ceramic scud. Both nail those qualities and have more than enough output compared to the pegasus or titan.

    Duncan Distortion could be what you're looking for. Drive, bite, tightness - maybe a little too much for some, but that's just a matter of taste...

    I run almost no gain just enough to give that chugga chugga attack. Would the scud sound all sizzley at low gain?

    With the ceramic or alnico 8 mag, yes.

    The Foxbat set I have in my sixer are amazing its not to hot and not to low gain perfect middle ground IMO.

    very tight feeling pickup. One of the fastest tracking pickups I've ever used besides the aftermath or m6. tight low end, growling midrange and warmer highs. good clarity. Takes a ton of gain to get a good saturated tone imo. Works really well in warmer sounding guitars. A great choice if you want a more modern sound without paying for bkps.

    the pegasus has less output iirc.

    I had a bk aftermath and just couldnt get the gring from it without really cranking up tje gain and that was my big issue with that pickup... I liked the clarity and punch... Do you feel the titan has more grind then the aftermath?

    I'd say KnightBrolaire is right, the Titan probably has more gain than the Pegasus, but its not a huge difference. [I own both].

    no it's about on par with the aftermath. It's a relatively dry pickup that takes a good amount of gain to saturate, just like the aftermath. If you want a pickup that has a similar feel to the titan but with more output then check out the guitarmory polaris. If you really want the grinding gritty feel though, go with a ceramic scud or black winter.
