Is he going to do one where the 9th string is on the fretboard?

I saw it on FB and spoke about it.

Apparently it appears that way because the strings were all slackened off for shipping and thats when the pictures where taken.

Well if thats the case then good. Ive gone back and checked all pics of his previous work once again and everything looks very solid and clean, everything looks really nice.
Even played his own multiscale 7 string and it was a solid build.

Ill be there in person for every step so im still feeling good and confident with mine.

Ive been talking to him a lot over the last year and have met him in person a few times at length and hes a super down to earth guy with great work ethic. Even been to his shop to see his work first hand. I havent a doubt this is just a case of unfortunate picture taking at the wrong moment.
When you guys see my guitar youre gonna be shittin lol.

Regardless of the end result, you're already miles ahead of the pack for choosing a local builder. :yesway:

    Not at all!

Everyone wants to go with obscure builders on the other side of the globe...and we know how that turns out. :ugh:

An in-person relationship with your builder can't be underestimated.

For sure, i like to try to support smaller 1 person companies and like to do what i can to get them more exposure (hence this thread)
Just hope i dont inadvertanly bring negativity his way because of this, he def doesnt deserve it. Lots of scummy sketchy builders out there and trevor is absolutely not one of them.
Like i mentioned we've got something VERY exciting in the works which i know you all will probably be real keen on!
    Ill keep ya updated!

If the guitars are good, me making inane comments isn't going to harm his business.

Another builder here in Victoria. First I've heard of him. Looking forward to seeing your build.

Photo quality can make a huge difference in marketing guitars. I'd honestly take one look at the pictures on his FB/Instagram and take a pass. That doesn't speak anything to the instrument quality, unfortunately. Take the strings over the fretboard issue. Anyone looking at that photo on his social media is not going to think "hmmm - the strings must be slack", they're going to think there's a serious issue with the instrument.

You're in the position to check out the instruments in person, so that can make a big difference and convinced you to lay down your cash on one of Trevor's guitars, so that's always a good sign. I always feel bad with threads like these when a potential flaw in building is pointed out and the player is now in the position of waiting to see what they actually receive from the courier.

What are the specs for your build? Similar to that 9?

Lets see, ill probably forget something.
    -8 string, 28-29" multiscale parallel at 9th.
    -mahogany body, cottonwood burl top.
-flat top with slight ibanez style arm bevel.
-5 piece bolt on neck wenge with 2 maple stripes.
    -purple heart fretboard.
-24 jumbo stainless steel frets .
    -luminlay side/front dots (green)
    -ibanez flat wizard style neck.
    -2 truss rods.
-cottonwood burl voids filled with epoxy/glow in the dark powder (glows in dark only)
    -hipshot fixed 11 degree bridge.
-hipshot open locking tuners for 6 strings on treble side of head. hipshot mini bass tuners for 7th/8th string on bass side of head.
    -black hardware.
    -semi gloss.
    -toggle kill switch.
    -fishman tosin abasi pickups.
    -3 way pickup switch.
-push pull vol and tone knobs for voice 1,2,3 of tosins.
-tone knob rolls off lows instead of highs.
    -fully custom design by myself.

Ill include an old mockup i did that shows the actual cottonwood burl piece i picked out. (I photoshopped the stain) Mind you the neck/pickups/"butt" of body/knobs are not accurate to the final design. Ill also include the actual body shape pic which is kind of a mix between an RG, fender jag and bc warlock. Fotor_154204272706113.jpg Fotor_154204274317187.jpg Fotor_154204277683838.jpg

Looks pretty damn mean dude. Only thing i'm not a big fan of is the straightness of the edge of top horn. I think you could add a little more curve there, but that is complete personal taste I guess, I'm sure it'll look amazing either way. Looking forward to seeing what the top looks like. In daylight the milky-ness of glow in the dark resin will look awesome I bet. Exciting stuff man!

That burl with the green highlights (top pic) looks sick!!! but I do agree with the above comment the straightness doesn't flow very well but if its what you like then its what you like!! I'm sure will turn out awesome! and congrats on supporting a local builder!
