So, Ive started a new job as an ambulance day controller/co-ordinator. Essentially, it involves the organisation of collecting patients from various locations across one health authority area. We have to collect them, take them to hospitial appointments and bring them home. Usually its one patient (sometimes with an escort.. oo la la). However, we have to co-ordinate them onto various ambulances. So, one ambulance can carry 4/5 people, one person may be in a wheel chair.

So its essentially marrying up the best route for collecting and dropping off patients using the resources available. Im trying to make sure my skills etc are up to scratch and Im ready for it so Im looking at resource management, working well under pressure and just being pretty organised. Anyone got any places/books/dvd's etc they can suggest I look at to get some skills?
