5150III 100S Head, Cabinet and Half Stack- Special Run
    This limited edition hand-customized EVH
    5150 III 100S head and 4x12 cabinet
combination is identical to the setup Eddie Van
Halen has recently toured with, and features
the exact same custom modifications. The
head and cabinet are available individually, or
together as a complete half stack.
The 100-watt head features a single input and
three channels (clean, crunch, lead), each with
versatile controls (volume, gain, presence, low,
mid, high). Channel two features increased
gain for greater sustain and is re-voiced for
    improved low-mid frequency definition; channel
three also features increased gain and
improved range for the “low” control. Further,
each channel has a rear-panel resonance
control knob that dials in fine-tuned low-end
response. The amp boasts eight JJ ECC83
preamp tubes, four Wing C 6L6 power tubes,
    switchable output impedance (4, 8 and 16
ohms) and adjustable bias control. Other
    features include vintage-style “chicken head”
control knobs, red jewel, dual speaker jacks,
effects loop, direct out and molded plastic
    handle.
    The cabinet features rock-solid birch
    construction, four Celestion® EVH G-12
speakers, EVH casters and recessed metal
    handles.
Head and cabinet come in a special black
“Stealth” aesthetic; and a seven-pin, fourbutton
    footswitch is included (controls each
channel and the effects loop). Optional EVH
    fitted cover also available.

Pretty cool that they added resonance controls per channel on it :agreed:

I just wish that they'd added midi compatibility to it like the mini

Also, I'm looking forward to all the "none more black" NAD threads

I just looked at the ad...yeah...I think nearly $2500 is a little steep even if it's "ultra rare"

You could easily pick up two regular used ones from GC and do the same aesthetic changes for about the same price. Plus you could have one of each color

I'm calling BS for now, I haven't seen anything from any source besides that ebay ad, and unless I get some info directly from EVH (which shouldn't be hard to find if this is real; it's very marketable) I can't believe it at all. The only info out there was posted on many forums; EXACTLY the same post with the same formatting and link as OP.

I hope someone can prove me wrong.

This is from an EVH dealer on Rig-Talk...

Rig-Talk • View topic - Limited Edition EVH Amp & Relic Wolfgang Guitar Pre Order -

I wouldn't order from there though as the guy is a known thief. But these do exist. I wonder how many of them they will be making?

Also keep in mind dealers get the heads up before official announcements are made. Just because there isn't anything official yet, that doesn't mean it's not true.

Fur eel, they can do that!? So, I guess I'm still not getting a car anytime soon. Fug! Thaz a smexy amp right there. I'm really curious how channel 2 is gonna sound and the separate resonance knobs are full of win. Also, it's the right color. :shred: That's a nice chunk of change though.

    I like it.

    A lot.

But I can't afford that! so the standard is fine for me! I can always put the black on it myself. I'm really indifferent to the rest.

I also do not completely believe this to be real. More proof would be appreciated. And in all honesty, I think it looks pretty boring in all black. Meh. The mods, though, I like.

I think this amp just saved me from an extended search for a replacement for my aging 5150 II. Just the added resonance controls for each channel is a huge improvement IMO. And I'm thinking the added gain on channel three will be more in the way of compression and liquid feel rather than more in your face distortion. I am curious to see how the channel two mid-range revoicing will sound. And to see what exactly the added range on the channel three low control will amount to.

And I love the "stealth" look. Makes the amp look less "classy" and way more "bad ass".

Real deal guys, I got this in my work email last week. If you think the price is high on this amp, you'll shit when you see the new Wolfgang Relic pricing haha. Since King Guitar has let the cat out of the bag, here ya go. I cropped out all of my dealer stuff:

    Added resonance controls? Damn.
If it had variable wattage my current 5153 100 watt would be on Craigslist already.

That's the price of the half stack. The head alone is $2199.99.

I got a question fellas, and let me first say that im in no way being a smartass or prick about it lmao, im just curious as i've never had the pleasure of playing one of these monsters. From reading the OP, sounds like with the "low mid voicing" they are making it sound like his original 5150/6505?
