What new guitars are you guys excited about?

Maybe I've just bought way too many over the years, but as I look through offerings currently available from almost any brand I'm highly underwhelmed. Ibanez has some semi-cool looking maple board'd 7's coming out in the Spring, but I had an RG752AHM (the white one) that left a lot to be desired compared to some of their older 7s.

I think the only thing I'm hoping for is that Charvel will actually release that Angel Vivaldi sig.

The new Strandberg Boden Classics look really nice as well. I very much enjoyed the Boden Original I had briefly.

    Thinking about buying a Claas.

I'm waiting to see what they show at NAMM.

I’m looking forward to that new Prestige XL from Ibanez, not sure if I’ll commit to it though. I would need to sell some of my guitars because i have too many as it is.

For some reason, i’m gasing really hard for an RG450DX in blue. I know it’s an entry level guitar, but i’m so drawn to it. Maybe because it reminds me of my old prestiges. Whatevs.

The three straight extended scale offerings from Ibanez this upcoming year seem fantastic, as does the new Desert Sun Yellow 752

Not really sure if any others have stood out so far

The Strat-head, Gotoh-trem Charvel does looks pretty cool. The Ibanez XL and 752MDY look awesome too. I like the LTD MH black fade thing too.

No PRS NAMM announcement yet? Can still hold out hope for a Core 7, but seems unlikely at this point.

The Angel sig would probably be the most promising one for my tastes.

Do we know that there will be a Charvel Angel V. sig? Or are we just hoping? I haven't heard anything definitive that we'll actually see anything this year.

EDIT: Never ye mind. I just saw Angel said it would be revealed at NAMM on his FB page.

I tried a couple of claas guitars at namm a couple of years back. They looked so cool, I thought they’d be great, but the fretwork and setup was horrendous on every one I played. Sorry if I burst your bubble, but they didn’t play like quality guitars.

I couldn't tell if the Claas comment was sarcasm or not. The build quality on some of those things looks super dodgy.

Yeah, I REAAAALLLY wanted a Claas, just based on the cool factor. But everyone that actually played one said no bueno. Hopefully he's improving, but it seems for a lot of luthiers that if they fail to recognize a need for improvement they never will.

Plus, we've seen some support horror stories already so I'd steer waaaaay off them.

Definitely have the itch for another 7, but no budget this year for a nice new guitar so I'll likely just build another one.

I know, specwise it’s nothing new or anything but i really liked the ibanez rga71al a lot. Even the scale length is a step back to 25.5”, i don’t care much of it.

Thanks for the heads up about Claas. Fortunately that was not the top choice. The problem is my top choice is a guitar from Japan that probably cannot be shipped. I'm not relishing the idea of physically lugging it back from Japan on a plane.
