Actually it should be called "NOAD" (New Old Amp Day), as my newest addition was built in 1994.

The Marshall cab that came with it should be around the same age.
Quick backstory: The singer of my band dug out all his retired gear from past projects. Since he had no use for all the gear (BC Rich Warlock NJ, Ironbird, The Laney and the Marshall cab), he plans to sell it all off for cheap.
I gave him 400 $ for the Head and the cab. Deal!

As it was just sitting around in a room for the last 14 years, it was quite dusty, but in pristine condition.

I did some cleaning and swapped the Sovtek 6L6 for some Mesa EL34.
Now, head and cab are shining again.

It has a different soudn as to what I'm used to, so I will keep on experimenting. I guess that Duncan Sentient/Nazgul PU's played through that amp are a rather rare sight...

Here are some pics of the "cleansing" ;-)

(My current signal chain can be found in my sig)

    ABSOLUTELY ! :D
And I like the simplicity. I had so many amps, with so many knobs.... I really enjoy that it leaves you with only two optins: Hard or harder XD

I just sold my recto to a buddy of mine and I don't think I will start to miss it all that fast ;-)

The only amps that I really miss, is my Diezel and my Pitbull. Each, because they had such a unique sound.

    But for now, I'm content:cool:

I recently got myself a 96' GH50L. My first tube amp.

I'm really loving it, the only thing is the clean "mode" is not really that clean even with the gain dialled so something like 3.

Is there a tube configuration someone could recommend so I have a cleaner gain?

Great score!! The GH50/100 and VH100 are criminally overlooked tone monsters! I love my VH100!

There's someone selling one of these on the (real)* UK guitar amp and gear exchange on facebook for 250 quid or offers, I really really don't need it at all so someone should go and buy it and I can save up for something else.

*Yes look I don't know why there is a 'real' one and a regular one either.

Great score. Mikael Akerfeldt doesn't know how to be wrong. Or at least used to not know. Seems as though he learned.
