should be an esp vp230-sl7 in vintage white when i head to japan middle of next month.

this is actually the predecessor of the current esp vp-sl7. only difference is the string-thru-body. i will be all over it if she came with an ebony fretboard. so question is, should i be getting it?

    specs are:

    BODY Honduras Mahogany
    NECK Hard Maple 3P
    GRIP SHAPE Thin U
    FINGERBOARD Rosewood , 24frets
    RADIUS 305R
    SCALE 27 inch (686mm)
    NUT (width) Carbon (1.6725inch / 42mm)
    FRET #216
    INLAY Dot
    JOINT Bolt-on
    TUNER Sperzel® Trim-Lock
    BRIDGE Tune-matic / Tailpiece
    PICKUPS (Front) Seymour Duncan SH-1n-7
    (Rear) Seymour Duncan SH-5-7
    CONTROL Master Volume, Master Tone
    Toggle PU Selector

your thoughts and feedback will be nice.

    thanks as always,
    dani

everything looks cool but i wonder why they went bolt on instead of set neck like the rest of esps viper line.

iirc, all viper sl7 have a bolt-on neck. i am thinking that a set neck in a offset sg-style body may not have the necessary support for the extra tension of a 7 with a 27" scale as opposed to a bolt-on. of course i may be wrong, but it seems like that is the most logical reason.

fwiw, even their m-7 has a bolt-on neck.
