The new Pentakill album just got released and I'm really liking it, it's kinda hard to pin down the genre but it has some elements of djent/modern prog metal and symphonic power metal with a fairly poppy spin to it.

I really dig that surprisingly. Last I had heard about LoL music was that godawful dubstep video they made.

I put this on not expecting much and nearly fell out of my chair when I recognised Jorn Lande's vocals. I love his work in Avantasia and Masterplan. I've no idea what LOL is but this is a cool concept. Gamers are a very loyal and paying audience so this must be doing really well.

LoL is the most popular game on the planet, they've done collaboration songs with Zedd and Imagine Dragons before. Pentakill is a fictional band that ties in to some of the cosmetic skins you can buy for some of the characters, called Pentakill, and those Pentakill characters are the band members in the game. The dude in the front, Pentakill Karthus, is played by Jorn Lande in the real life Pentakill.

Protoshredanoid, the lead guitarrist posted on this forum when they released the first album. It would be nic if he could drop by and give us some insight again on the gear and recording process of these songs.

Jorn Lande now? Nice! (And did I read right that Tommy Lee did drums on one of the songs?)

Er.... not even close. ^^ It's popular with rich kids with internet access in occidental countries, and even then some other games are way more popular. Being the most popular MOBA doesn't amount to much.

Okay, so what other game has more than 100 million players per month? Maybe some mobile games but that isn't really relevant to the discussion. And no, it isn't popular with just rich kids, the biggest reason for why it took off was because it's free to play when other games around that time wasn't.

Agreed, I've been playing this game for years. It is 100% free to play if you don't want to spend money. You can even unlock the extra characters by just playing the game. The only thing that costs actual money is cosmetic stuff. Not sure where this is a "rich kids" game comment stems from.
