Hey, i'd like to if any of you know of a fingerstyle technique(s) that would allow me to play fast leads on single string (three note per string kind of thing) and if you do, what exercises would you recommend :shred: :shred: Thank you !

Having received classical training for almost 10 years, I can tell you the only technique is... well... practicing. It is all a matter of coordination, use 3 fingers (index, middle and ring) for the E-B-G-D strings, experiment and find what you like for A and low E. I personally use ONLY my thumb for the bottom strings, but I have seen many going for "regular" fingerpicking.
The other thing, decide if you want to use nails or fingertips to pick the string. Again, it is a very personal choice, but it is a choice that has to be taken early as it influences your technique. Another thing you may want to consider is bridging, i.e. using one or more finger resting on the body to stabilise the hand while picking. While I am a fan of that for mellow, slow songs or composition, it makes fast playing pretty difficult.

It's called picado. In flamenco most guys use two fingers, in classical sometimes two or three fingers. This isn't like playing with a pick, it will take you a long time to get the hand movement, coordination, and speed up to par.

Thanks a lot for that, I guess I'll just work hard on the technique :shred:

Having received classical training for more than 20 years (seriously, my father put me at music school when I was just 7) I totally agree with the above. At some point you'll "get the feel" of it, and you may integrate some flamenco technique too. But it require lots, LOTS of practice, and it's really impressive once you start doing it in front of others.
