How do they sound? I've only seen 2 demos of them on You tube and they sounded like nothing but fuzz...

Not sure about lace drop and gain but I just returned the deathbucker I am not liking anything I have tried from Lace. Take a look at guitarmory they have some amazing choices for 6,7,8 string guitars.

For some reason they chose stoner/doom dudes to demo a modern drop-tuning pickup.. Because fuck all.

I made a thread like this awhile back. From what I've been told, it's like a hybrid of the EMG 81 and 85, with some passive elements. Not EMG 81 tight, but still pretty tight and has some thickness to it.

    this!

    they are awful (deathbucker)
Xbar gave me great cleans when coil tapped, but everything else from both these pickups were garbage.

So i'm bumping this old thread. Reason why is because they sparked my interest again... But the 7 string versions.. does anyone have any actual experience with them? Reason I am curious about them is because I can get a set for 80 bucks brand new which is less than the cost of 1 of them...

I have Drop N' Gain 6-string version in my ESP Eclipse. They are my favorite passive pickups.

I ordered them. They were too cheap to pass up, also free returns if they're not to my liking.

Damn . Well they don't fit. My guitar is fitted with the non soap bar pickups but I thought they'd still fit. I guess I'll hold onto them for another day if I ever get a guitar with soap bars .
