This fanned eight reminds me of an oni.
Finally getting some finish on this chambered 6 string:
Should have it all done by the end of next week.
The first build out of the new shop is done! More pics and a demo video soon.
oh man !! The back of that neck is sleek as hell love it !!
that turned out great!
so many options...not sure what to do lol
Love the 3 bolt neck. Build came out great.
M3CHK1LLA- just buy a few different ones, problem solved ...seriously though, you've got me itching to do a multiscale version of the Exploder. I think I'll work on a render tonight.
So to tie up this ash/walnut guitar, I wanted to record a little demo video. With Christmas and so forth happening, my usual stunt guitarist didn't have time to stop by the shop, so you're stuck with my (lack of) chops. Enjoy!
I'll get a real player to do a proper video soon, I promise!
Oh, and I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!
i demand moar pictures of the padauk wenge 8 string! really curious to see the finished product of that
i guess the walnut/ash guitar is pretty cool too.
Yeah, I think multiscale is where it's at for this one:
and just because I like surf green a little too much:
Things got colorful over here today:
Also started the rough carve on the big red 8:
More work on the multi 8:
man i love that padauk wenge guitar. one of my favorite builds on this site so far.
Holy crap... that purple... favorite color right there.
Are you going to leave it satin, or put a clearcoat over it?
Thank you! This one is going full gloss.
Getting started on the 8's neck carve:
Love what I'm seeing here. Really meticulous work.
Always cool to see a fellow vet being successful and doing something he loves after the military. I've seen too many military friends leave the service and then flounder (or fail).
I appreciate it! And yep, I've seen plenty of vets (friends and not) do the same thing- just go home and work whatever job they had before joining, if at all. Again, I truly appreciate the support... if you're ever in my neck of the woods or would like to demo one of my builds, just give me a shout.
And with that, on to the 2017 thread!
Stunning work, Knightro. I've followed your threads on PG for a while now.
Would you mind doing a little bullet point list on how you do your lovely laminated scarf joints? Any practical reason why you have them start further along the neck other than being able to use shorter blanks? I noticed Ormsby does this as well.
Not sure where the hell that purple came from but it's amazing. Making a note to come back and check out how that one turns out for sure!
