    They're actually balaguer's growler/espada models respectively.
I like the murdered out espada a lot, looks comfy and sleek as all hell, plus I have a soft spot for open pore ash bodies/tops.

I think that black one is the only jazzmaster-ish thing I've ever looked at and thought "yeh, I'd rock that."

yeah, as much as I like regular jazzmasters, the espada is a nice little tweak on that design. I would have preferred if they'd kept the longer upper horn of the jazzmaster but it's still cool. The forearm bevel is the big reason I like it. jazzmasters are already comfy for me and that looks super comfy. I can imagine it looking a little funky/kiesel esque if it's not solid colored due to the deep forearm bevel though.

Has his Fender endorsement run its course?

Edit: Ninja'd. I'm very interested in hearing Jim's thoughts about this thing and if there's any beef between him and Fender.

Just FYI Jim has loads and loads of guitars, he seems to be a bit of a collector. I believe he even has a Gibson he bought years ago but it's still in the box/case and he has no plans of opening it.

    EDIT: found the vid

Fender isn't too strict about what artists use, especially long time players like Root.

Haha, good to know. Then they won't be butthurt if I make someone else make me a signature 7-string Mustang while still using their 6-string models.

Oh, so he's actually using these. I just thought the title was a joke about the similarities between this and the Root Jazzmaster.

Jim's brought some Gibsons on stage, so it's nothing new. He used a V with Slipknot, as well as some Vs and Explorers with Stone Sour. This is during the peak of both bands, too.

EDIT: Nevermind. Can’t change frets per contact with the company. Deal breaker for me.

Any of you guys have hands on experience with Balaguer guitars? The options are great and they look really nice. Prices are attractive as well, but no experience at all with them.

If I were still big into 7-strings I absolutely would have ordered at least one Balaguer by now; either their Tele or Espada. 22 frets, Floyd Rose, and cool classic shapes, love it.

So disappointed that he’s not interested in adding 8-string options.

Yeah, I prefer straight scales and tremolos, which they seemed willing to do but it gets pricey since their CNC is out the window for those specs. I probably will stick with ordering one-offs from Schecter and luthier named Brian Howard because I know what I’ll get from them and they seem up for whatever.

Yup. I discovered BG in early 2017. I’m waiting on my 9th build to be completed at this point.

I loved the company so much that when Joe offered me the chance at being a brand ambassador, I signed right up. I basically spread the word about the company when people ask.

I’ve owned guitars from Ibanez to music man to suhr to prs. My BG’s hang tight up there with them. Amazing playability and tone all around. Plus, Joe Balaguer is as cool as they come. No ego and all about making the customer happy.

I doubt Jim is leaving Fender after all of the guitars they have and still build for him. Like @cip 123 said he collects guitars and is a big gear head like we are.

These things looks sweet btw I may have to check this company out.
