A guitar so cool, it deserves it's own thread.

He talks about it later on in the video.

Take the stupid snake inlay off and sell it for less than the typical 6000 dollars and ESP has a killer signature version.

But no...why do that when we don’t have nearly enough ho-hum satin black LTD models yet?o_O

Wonder what tuning he has it put in

They've used quite a few over the years that were lower than E/Eb/D but he generally used Les Paul/Eclipses for them, no? If not the occasional Horizon

It's a beautiful top. And the Snakebyte shape is sick. Together... eh. Not a fan of quilt or flame tops on Explorers. IMO they look best with solid colors, or stains like the newer Solars or old Gibson Voodoos.

its sick, but I like the one he got done with Ken Lawrence, made out of old pieces of wood from the shed they used to write back in the day.... (minus the inlay)

which is the one sitting next to him on the video

Theres a dedicated video about it, but of course ESP is not gonna put that up in their site since he was like "I wanted to make a special guitar with this wood of our special place, so it HAD to be Ken Lawrence"..... lol

I'd be surprised. When he plays baritones, he plays real 27" Viper baritones. Hell before he got this guitar his go to for Dream No More was an EII Viper baritone.

Honestly C# tuning on a 27 inch scale guitar feels really good. I put 10s and the tone is so edge-y and clear and it begs to get chugged. I can see James preferring it for that particular tuning.

James doesn't use super thick strings so i could easily see him do it.

yeh thats what I remmebered with the viper, it was more of a joke...., but some reason this snakebite didnt came across to me as a baritone. Hell if they didnt mentioned it was a baritone I though it was a regular one

but now that I see it twice, it does looks longer

It's probably not an extreme scale lenth. Either 26.5'' or 27''.

I think if ANY company made a baritone explorer shape it would sell like hot cakes

Well, Gibson made one, and they didn't repeat the experience. So they likely didn't sell all that fast. (since it was a limited edition I suppose all sold, but I suppose most explorer people want the classic short scale)
