Whoa, look what I just found at Total Wine & More. Probably won't drink it--just keep it as a display piece in my studio (don't worry, I bought plenty of other beer for drinking)

They had it at a local bar for some months or so... I liked it. Not something I'd drink all night, but one or two of those, anytime. (It's a bit strange to see it in a can, I still associate that with cheap beer.... Which it definitly wasn't :D )

The bottled version has been around forever. It's pretty good.

I bought 12 of the bottled version. 11 of them were pretty good and the last one will remain unopened on my shelf.

Apparently, these are pretty common (I posted this same thing on Facebook and a few other forums). Lots of people familiar with this, and apparently there's an AC/DC beer out there too.

I need to get out more.

Regardless, I'm still keeping it as a display piece in my studio--kind of a "break in case of emergency" kind of thing.

The AC/DC beer is not as good as the Maiden one.

I remember seeing some conversation about a Megadeth beer too. I get it, from a marketing/novelty standpoint but sticking a band name on a beer tells me nothing about the beverage itself unless the band had some input on it.

I'm surprised I haven't run into it in person yet, since I see lots of Unibroue around here (I do like some of their stuff). Then again, I haven't been looking for it.

I'd also question the ROI the band gets on such a marketing investment.

I found a Game of Thrones ale once, so I bought a few bottles for friends and I to drink while watching one of the finales, and it actually was really good.

Ah, I've actually seen this (but don't remember where). But c'mon... 4.5% ABV? Not that I'm into super-high alcohol beers or anything, but 4.5% just doesn't seem very "metal" ya know?

Most of the beers Unibroue does is much higher than that (8 to 10%). They must've toned it down for Dave Mustaine's sake:lol:

I liked the trooper beer when I tried it. I'm not really a hoarder of metal merch other than mastodon and iron maiden so I'll probably have to get another can just for looking at.

I'm not a drinker but being a die hard Maiden fan I want some, just can't get it anywhere in my area, typical bloody Australia.

There's Anthrax "wardance" pale ale too.
