    Hi guys,

    Made another Helix video.
This time I'm using my new LTD EC401B Baritone guitar with the Fatality amp model.
It's sounding pretty darn HUGE here so I'm happy.

For the cab sounds I ended up using the new OwnHammer 412 Recto which quite possibly is the best Mesa Boogie 4x12 IR capture I've ever tried.
It hasn't been properly released yet but you can find those files here:
    http://ownhammer.com/412-recto

    Anyway, here is the video:

This tone is RIIITE up my street. Ive heard the Fatality is a modified Rectifier? Either way it sounds amazing. Is this like Quad tracked?. Or just double etc?
And what was the amp EQ settings and were there any post stuff/eq done?

    Thank you!
I also read somewhere that this amp model is based on a Recto...
All the rhythm parts are double tracked, so only 2 guitars (one left, one right).

    Scream 808 settings: Gain 0.0, Tone, 91, Level 10.0. Fatality amp settings: Drive 6.0, bass 5.5, Mid 4.6, Treble 5.6, Presence 6.2.

I always leave room for some tweaking in the mix.
I added a little bit of mids with the Slate Digital FG-N for example but other than that not a whole lot.

I get kicka$s tones out of my HD 500. I'd be highly disappointed if a unit costing $1,000 didn't blow it out of the water
    Sounds great man

    Guitarjon,
Which speaker option did you use for this song and how does this cab IR compare to the OH "412 MES" from the Heavy Hitters collection?

I used the V70B speaker option with the OH1 M+ mix from the quick start folder.
I'd say compared to the MES in the HHC this one has a bigger and nicer midrange and also has a bit more pleasant highs.
That's my personal opinion of course.

If anything, I thought Line 6 products always excelled at high gain. It's just I felt they lack at low/mid gain sounds.

^ well, many people in the past, here and online, didn't like the high end on L6 high gain sounds, describing it as fizzy, harsh, etc.

For the Helix, there's this guy on youtube who did a very thorough comparison against Fractal's AX8, and the differences for most of the tones are subtle, but he mentioned that when it comes to the player's feel, the AX8 felt more like a real amp than the Helix, same I think to what Ola concluded as well in his review of the Helix. I am wondering if latest Helix firmware update is an improvement in this regard.
