I'm noob. Amp-in-a-box or the real deal?

I got an AMT K2 and with an overdrive into my Fryette 2/50/2 it's really cool.

I'm hoping to get the R2 next if I can find one.

Here's a new pedal shootout featuring the VH4 and Bogner Uberschall I was mentioning before just for reference

The Fryette PS2 is legit. Plus it adds attenuation and an FX loop.

Why would you need an FX loop with a pre+power amp setup? Just put it between the preamp and the power amp.

Here's a decent demo vid with some good high gain pedals. I found that the ones in the Andertons video sounded really thin & raspy for some reason.

I wish the local store carried the Amptweaker pedals. It'd be awesome to be able to try one out in person & not have to spend $400+ to get one online. :(

Sucks that you're in Canuckistan. They are $320 in America for the pro series. I guess the conversion from USD -> CAD would be pretty atrocious.

How about an Ibanez TBX150h? Maybe the best of both worlds?

Yup-yup.. right now we get roughly 80 cents on the dollar. A perfect example is the Strymon Big Sky. On Reverb, they go for about $490 US. Converted to CDN, it's around $620
which is a crazy amount of cash to drop on a reverb pedal. That's why I laugh whenever someone on a forum says to "just go buy (insert pedal/amp/processor)". Outside of the U.S., things aren't quite as easy to get used, nor are they quite as inexpensive either.

If you have a local dealer who you'd like to get our pedals in, please hit them up and I'll be happy to sell them a few.....they're usually happy to take on the line if they know there are customers nearby!

There's a link on my site they can use to send me an email.
    thanks

I think a lot of the preamp pedals sound great. Pair them with a good poweramp (the new one from Seymour Duncan is looking pretty promising) and you can get some awesome tones without all the weight and space being taken up of the "real thing".

Sadly, it's a 'national chain' (Long & McQuade), so they only get their stock from the head office. There's even stuff for sale on the store's website that they don't carry locally and you have to 'special order' it. I've asked them many a time if they plan on carrying different products and every time I get "It's not up to us".

I really appreciate the help though. :) Once the CDN dollar creeps up a little more, there's a good chance I may take a closer look at the Fat Metal...

As an amp in a box, or a preamp?

Amp-in-a-box or just the basis of a setup I can upgrade over time

This dude sounds pretty good with one. He has a BE-OD going into a BluGuitar amp.
