    Hey people,

I've the chance to get the Juggernauts pretty cheap, but I'm not really into
the details of BKP, maybe you can help me.

I have a LTD MH-400 STB Trem with EMG85 (Neck) and EMG81 (Bridge).

    The BKPs have
    Neck:
    • Standard spacing
    • 4 Conductor
    • Short Leg

    Bridge:
    • Wide spacing
    • 4 Conductor
    • Short Leg

I just read, the short leg should be good for this guitar, but what about the spacing? And what means 4 Conductor?

And would it be possible to change the cover?

I really appreciate your help! Thanks so far!

The spacing and 4 conductor is ideal.

4 conductor allows coil splitting and the spacing means your strings will line up with the pole pieces.

You'll need new 500k pots though as your EMGs are probably using 25-100k and those will make the passive BKPs super muddy.

Oh cool thank you for the quick answer!

Okay this sounds good, could you maybe recommend me a volumne-poti which I could get from Thomann

So now I just need to decide if I really want to spend the money (because TBH I'm not the best guitar player)
AND what I could put in the toneknob hole, because I wouldn't use it again if I have to put completely new electronics in it haha

    EDIT

Okay I think the Allparts Push/Push Poti should work well

Oh and another question that came up to my mind is, what is about the warranty? Do I keep it? I mean, is it transferable?

Sadly the warranty is not transferable but the Allparts poti should work fine. 500k, log or audio taper is what to look for in pots. :yesway:

Yeah they told me in a mail already :(
I have doubts without the warranty,
but less than 170 gbp instead of 265 is a hell of a steal.

Do you think the warranty is worth the 100 bucks?

6 string Juggernauts are only £198 new so £170 isn't a vast reduction.

Bare Knuckle Pickups Juggernaut Open Set (6 String, Black)

I'm not that bothered about a warranty but I tend to buy them used and mod them. Personally I don't think the warranty is worth £100. A full rewind by BKP is only £80 so..

Oh I only took a look at the Bare Knuckle website :D
I thought it's always the cheapest from the fabricator directly...

The set I could buy has chrome covers.
I asked where he bought them. If they came from a german shop,
I may have a chance to get the warranty.

By they way, Andertons have the same PUs (same cover options) and about £10 less shipping (to Germany)
I would love to get a brushed nickel cover with black bolts.

I'm sorry my english isn't as good as it should be.
What do you mean with a full rewind?

Your English is much better than my German! Brushed nickel and black bolts would look great.

A rewind would be needed if the pickup coil breaks for some reason and involves winding the very thin coil wire around the bobbin again from the beginning by hand, using the old bobbins and magnets. Pretty much the most expensive repair a pickup would ever need.

Haha thank you, but I guess german is just a little harder to learn.
Thank, I appreciate your confirmation of my taste :)

Ah okay now I understand! Thank you!
Yes, the warranty isn't that important then.
Also because TBH I've never seen a broken PU! :D

And by the way, if anyone is reading this and interested:

If you want Bare Knuckle to change your pickup cover,
it costs £20 for a 'normal' cover (nickel, chrome, etc.)
and £40 for a custom (battleworn, tyger, etc.) for a single pickup.
    Info came directly from BKP.

Thanks for your help Hywel, sadly I thought too long about it (good price, but still much money I don't really have right now etc.), but he sold them to someone else!
