Hi guys, New to the forum and to be honest have signed up out of desperation in order to find out if any of you guys have any knowledge regarding the ESP Horizon models and their Nut Widths. Basically last week, I luckily landed my hands on a perfect condition ESP Standard Series Horizon NT-7. For those of you who know this guitar you'll know it has a 45mm wide nut - extremely rare on 7 strings - but I have absolutely fell in love with this. My problem is that I also want a new Baritone and funnily enough the new E-II range from ESP includes an NT-7B - Great! However having scoured countless online dealers I have found that half of them quote this guitar as having a 45mm nut and the other half quote it as 48mm nut. So like anyone I went to the official ESP website to check official spec and just my luck, they have just updated their range so that this guitar is now called NT-7B Hipshot and has been updated. My instinct is to just think that the mention of 45mm on these sites is a silly copy and paste job but this would actually be unlikely across so many sites plus the spec lists quote the nut width just under the scale length, if it would have been a copy and paste from the old NT-7 sheet then it would have quoted the incorrect scale length. And to add to the mix I just called two dealers who had the guitar in stock and asked them to manually measure the nut width... both came back with 49.5mm... So, my question is, does anyone have any experience or memory of the N-II NT-7B's. Did they continue the 45mm nut width in the E-II models perhaps for just a certain period of time (until 2014 for example) and then updated the spec to 48mm? Any help would be greatly appreciated lads.
