Has anyone ever made their own guitar from scratch before?

    If so, could you please direct me to the resources you used to learn how?

    The specs I want either aren't in mass production or aren't affordable.

    Check out build threads here, on other forums (TDPRI, ProjectGuitar) and videos on Youtube. Almost anything can be found there when you invest some time and look around. Besides the know-how on technique, investing some money in good tools is always worth it. When you buy cheap, you usually buy twice.

    Yeah he should. But a lot of good advice has been given as well. Deff check out the build threads, great stuff.

    Yep! Started a company too. :p I've got 7 guitars now and only 2 of them are other companies.

    Get yourself a copy of "build your own electric guitar" by Melvin Hiscock and read it cover to cover. It'll give you a solid baseline of building knowledge.
