As the owner of the Abraxis 7 I can happily say this guitar is stunning, and the work they do at Harris Custom Guitars is done to the highest quality. Couldn't be happier with my build.

How deep is the deep cut neck?

Our standard neck thickness is 20.8 at the 1st and 21 at the 12th, the deep neck 1mm deeper at both points. Makes a surprising difference, and just that little bit more neck for players with bigger hands. But of course, we are a custom guitar company, so if customers wish to have their own dimensions incorporated, we are more than happy to accommodate.

    Regards, HCG

Hi Guys, here's an update of whats going on in the workshop at the moment. As well as guitars coming in for maintenance, we have started on the next 7 string guitar. This time it's the Twin, 7 string, Private stock European Walnut body (seriously nice block) Flamed Maple cap, Indian rosewood neck with Macassar Ebony fretboard. This guitar is intended to go into my private stock, along with a few other special guitars, ready for a show next year, however, i will not ignore interest form customers beforehand, because i have matching blanks that can be made into a very similar instrument.

Anyway, here's the shape she's going to be, i've marked on the cutaways, so you get an idea of how it will look. The cutaways are going to be 'cutaways' rather than the PRS style slope, it will help keep the aggressive look we are after. Hardware will be from schaller, keeping everything top end, as always, and natural finishing, again, to compliment the quality of materials in the build.

More pictures to come soon, let us know your thoughts.

    Kind regards, HCG

You have to attach the photo link, not the one from the facebook photo. Right click > open in new tab, then use that link. Also, the mods prefer if you only post once a day as far as updates go.

    Cheers!

it sure is, makes light work of all our standardised fret work, but most importantly, it's super accurate!

Also, I thought it would be nice to get a vote on what colour you guys think the Private stock Twin 7 Maple top should be stained/tinted. The Body Is European Walnut, The neck, Wenge, with Ziracote Fretboard. Will be nice to hear your opinions, rather than just doing what we like..... as It will be up for purchase.

We are pleased to announce that we will be making our show debut at the Birmingham Guitar Show in Feb next year. This means we will be carrying out a 5 guitar run after the next few customer builds, and these will be the instruments that we take to the show. A selection of both 6 and 7 string guitars covering our models. This is the ideal time if any of you guys would like your own custom build, to say so, as once the run starts, it will be a little while before the next builds commence.

    Kind regards, HCG

Apologies for the lac lustre o posting of late. Here are a few mid build snaps of a recent Twin 7 going through the workshop. On to staining and then the spray booth. This one is going midnight purple with enhanced black flames. Watch this space....
