Halo Custom vs. EBMM JP (maybe X, XI, 12, or 13 models in 7 strings)

    Hi guys,
I am looking to upgrade soon to a new 7 string and am moving up from the standard intro 7 string, Ibanez RG7321, to higher end guitar. I have been looking for a while at various EBMM JP guitars and am hoping to find one at a decent cost. However, I saw that I can potentially buy a Halo custom guitars Merus 7 string for about $1500, which is cheaper than what I've seen any of the JP guitars (aside from the standard 7). I've heard that the floating trem in the JPs is pretty good and I also have a spare Tremol-no lying around, but the Merus 7 comes with an Evertune bridge and BKP Juggernauts, which by themselves add up to over $600 in value.
I am not really looking into Carvin because I don't want to wait much time, but I guess I am open to that, although I'd rather not.
Anyone have any opinions on which ones I should go for, or other suggestions that are under $2100 or so, as that is the most I'd want to spend.
    Thanks!

This should really be a no contest.

    The EBMM by far.

I'm not even going to go in depth about this, EBMM > Halo by a ....ing longshot.

Carvin's wait times are 6-8 weeks, completely reasonable.

Came in to say this. :agreed:

You can get the typical import "fancy spec sheet" instrument, the Halo, or get a high end, super high quality "keeper level" instrument that you're not going to want to replace in a year or two, one of the EBMMs.

Don't be afraid of the "standard" JP7s either, they're some of the best production guitars you can buy these days at pretty much any price point. The same quality as the special "X" editions, but with a more player friendly price.

Thanks for the response! Any other guitars I should be looking at at this price point? I just want to have as many good options as possible.

You can ESP FR7s in your price range and they're also pretty awesome.
