don't you guys HATE doing the dishes? i mean, for one, it's not terribly exciting. but more notably, it makes my fingertips soft, so i can't play any guitar until they dry out considerably. :scream:

can the desire to buy a dishwasher for that reason be considered a part of G.A.S.? :p

you need to get married then you will no longer have to do the dishes

I used to work in resturaunts and hadda do dishes... after a while the calluses ended up winning the fight...
in most home dishwashers you have to pre wash your dishes anyway or they wont get all of the crusty food off of em.

my advice: buy some latex gloves ya wuss :D

Solution! I found this nifty contraption at the grocery store, it's a sponge at the end of about an 8 inch handle, and you fill the handle with soap. You'll never have to actually touch the sponge again or even get your hands wet.

    you're still a wuss, tho :)

Who the hell pre-washes dishes before putting them in the dishwasher? Doesn't that strike anyone as being completely redundant? I scrape the leftovers off the plate and if there's a heavy layer of sauce or something, i just rinse it down the drain so it doesn't cake on, but seriously... pre-washing dishes? That kinda defeats the whole point of having a dishwasher, doesn't it?
