I wish I had a friend in Japan.

I still have no clue what's going on. Guitar Asylum prices horuses for 1800...the neck is extremely rare and the body itself is a custom build...

Which, if you read back threads, Mark here did when he got the guitar in the first place.

    177000 Yen = US$1,655.288583

Hell of a profit margin for a used guitar.

Don't see your point about me making a profit on the guitar. Where else would you get one of these? Nowhere. Don't like the price, don't buy it. It's real simple man.

I think the description is what we didn't like, let alone the price ;D

Me? What else do you want me to post aside from the link and a picture? There are a ton of pictures and the full item description in the link.

I've actually considered getting that done in the past to a Caparison, I love swirl finishes. There's a killer looking white/black/gray one on Fede's website that I really want on a guitar someday.

Thread's already gone to hell, so fuck it.

I actually like Richard Fay's swirls more than Herc's.

I don't think anyone ever buys stuff off Megadeth here lol.

As a further OT, Mark, your Framus buyer came into my work yesterday asking about 7 string sets of strings. Super nice guy, although your profit margin made me go  a bit.

Actually, I think "Customized" is the word you have in mind. Custom implies it was custom ordered from the factory, customized implies it was modified by the owner. You didn't call up Caparison with a spec sheet to get this guitar, you swapped bodies with another collector. "Custom," a word with such strong connotations in the high end guitar world, really ins't appropriate here.

I'm going to close this. Couple reasons. First, your description, what of it exists, is pretty misleading in that this ISN'T a custom Caparison, but one you customized. Second, you're asking almost a grand markup on your BIN. The for sale section of this site exists for the benefit of our members, and while we don't generally intervene, we've occasionally called out sellers whose prices were out of line in the past. $2500 on a guitar that'd go for $1700 is a bit much.

Third, and really the main reason here (aside from the fact that this is beginning to get ugly) is that this isn't the first for sale thread of yours I've closed in the past. I won't say this categorically without taking the time to go back and check all your for sales, which frankly I can't be assed to do, but I wouldn't be surprised if every single post of yours here is a link to an Ebay auction with no description. I started just editing in details from your auctions for you, but eventually got sick of even doing that and just started deleting them. Our for sale forum isn't too heaviuly moderated, but one of the things we do require is an asking price. It's one thing to list something and then put it on the 'Bay if there's no immediate interest, but you have a history of just posting auctions. That kind of strikes me as a pattern of circumventing that asking price requirement.

So, I would suggest NOT relisting this guitar on this site. I would also suggest updating your auction to indicate this guitar is customized, but not a custom. And I would also suggest either using this forum in the manner for which it was intended in the future, or not using it. Thanks.
