I'm a hopeless Devy fan, so this is going straight into the queue of things I must have.. Interesting he mentions that this pickup has Active, Passive and Single Coil voicings, where as the Fluence site only mentions the Active and single coil voicings.

I was reading about the Stef sig pickups.

It seems like Voice 1 will be based on a slightly tweaked Fishman Modern set, and Voice 2 will be based on the Seymour Duncan JB bridge and whatever he used in the middle.

Definitely interested in the Devy pickups. I was really excited about the Steph's as well but their description doesn't sell me on them.... I'll just wait for my local store to have a LTD SC607B in stock with them in it and test it out then.

Well, I'd buy these simply based on that interview. Dev is such a lovely guy to listen to haha.

I'm not a super hardcore Devy fan, but I do like a lot of his music and he's probably one of my favorite singers for any form of heavier music. That said, these pickups still sound like they'd be cool to try.

...too bad I just ordered a 57/66 set to try out (finally) :/

His description sounds great but I am a little confused to the voices. Devin says there's high-gain active, medium-gain passive, and low-gain single coil but the site just says high-gain active and low-gain single.

I'm thinking either there's two voices, high-gain and medium-gain, and then coil-splitting on top of that (less likely but probably cooler) OR the "high-gain" voice is Voice 1 on the bridge pickup, "medium-gain" is Voice 1 on the neck pickup, and "low-gain single coil" is Voice 2 for both pickups (more likely IMO).

Either way I emailed Fluence to find out to satisfy my own curiosity.

    Aww, I was hoping for a high-gain EMG-like tone and a lower-output PAF-style tone. :(

Old thread? Yeah, I wish there was a 7 string set too. About the 2 voicing issue, when you buy the pickups they come with a wiring diagram that adds an extra 3 way toggle for active humbucking/passive humbucking/passive coil split. I haven't installed them in anything yet, so can't comment on the sound. Mainly because the guitars I'd like to put them in don't have room in the control cavity for that extra toggle switch.

Ken from Fishman said that the Devin seven set wasn't far off, my bet is for Namm next year :)

^ Winter NAMM 2018 is like 1/25, hopefully they have more models for 7-string. I vote for the KSE 7-string set, the 6-string is awesome.

I reckon there's a big chance of some seven string models, they have so many artist series pickups now it just makes sense to extend the range rather than adding a ton more artists

Hopefully they do the above and not just add colours, exciting to see the possible Keith Merrow set as well :)

Yeah, a KM set would be super awesome. It'll be interesting to see how close it would be to Pegasus/Nazgul/Sentient pickups.

I'm really hoping for more 8 string stuff from the Fluence line up. If they make a Dev 8 string set I would try it for the single coil mode alone.

    ***FISHMAN PEOPLE READING THIS***

I know this is a huge long shot, but please make 8 string versions of both the Classic pickups! Or better yet, make 7 and 8 string versions that are in humbucker cases with one of the voices from the Single Widths.

I got slutty friends and family members that owe me. I can make it worth your while...:taunt::D
