I like Candy Dulfer (alto sax) and David Sanborn (alto sax)... Other than that I generally don't listen to musicians specifically. I do like most drummers, bassists and keyboard players that work with Satriani, Petrucci, Vai and the like. I also like bands like Queen and Toto as a whole... great musicianship all around.

Other than that I tend to listen to singers. Check out Lara Fabian, her voice is amazing (look up her live rendition of Caruso on Youtube). Michael Buble is great aswell, good songs too.

If I could play any instrument as well as someone famous, I'd wanna be able to play drums like Joey Jordison-that guy is INHUMAN! Lars Ulrich ain't too bad either, like...

Bootsy Collins get great love from me like, he is indeed funkadelic!

+I'd hardly call her a musician, but I adore Brody Dalle's voice too, she can join my band any day :D

I think Rudess is technically better, and brilliant, but yeah Derek certainly has a very heavy quality about him, and his contribution to Planet X is pretty much perfectly balanced, very technical, but maintaining an atmosphere behind the rhythm onslaught... Rudess is much more of a lead player...

Kevin Moore, on keys, and Danny Carey on drums.

If we count bassists (who are sort of guitaristS), add Sean Malone to that list.

I would a agree that Rudess is technically better, but I don't like his solos. They are full of wank just to be full of wank. And I prefer Dereks sound, much more exciting :)

Keybord player in my band adores Rudess :( hehe
