Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: 1997 ESP MX Bolt On. Fairly rare model with the bolt on neck, only a couple hundred made. Near mint condition, just the headstock logo is a bit worn (looks like someone at some point tried to polish the headstock but went through the clear, only under the "P" and the "Custom Shop") other than that, no paint flaws, chips or dings.

    Modifications (if any): None

Accessories (hardshell case etc): Aftermarket 'LTD' hardshell case

Location (City,State or City,Country): Albany, NY USA

    International OK? : No

Contact Info (No Phone #s) Message me here

References (eBay or other forum userid): 5 star feedback on Reverb (can send a link on request)

Price (include currency and if firm/obo): asking $2,800 obo, open to offers and trades. Looking mainly for a Gibson Thunderhorse, or any cool Gibsons. But let me know what you have.

I haven't had a chance to take any more pics since I posted it, I'll take some more tomorrow. And the only reason I say it looks like it was polished is because I brought it to a local luthier and he said that's what it looked like. Apparently not the first one he's seen like that lol

Wait, polish went through the clear coat? Does that even happen?

In the first pic the logo looks like two angles, the second the headstock looks like it has dings. If they went through the clear you could see and feel it.
Better pop that neck off and get some cavity pics.

Do you have a coa or any paper work with this guitar? AFAIK, they didn't make an MX (Metallica explorer) in bolt on, only set neck per hetfield specs.

Mainly because this looks like it may be a rebranded LTD so the neck pocket stamping would be useful to help prove authenticity... as would any paperwork.

Yes, it is an EXP, I completely forgot that haha I'll try to change the title. But after all of my research it checks out as an ESP, not an LTD

Then prove it with pics. Back of the headstock and in the neck cavity.

Also, your NGD post mentioned "some dings around the corner" and getting this for a really low price. You're looking to trade it for a guitar that's half the price. You have to see it from our perspective. The sole reason to believe this is an ESP is the logo and you're saying the custom shop put on a faulty water slide that was eroded THROUGH the clear without impacting the clear AT ALL by "polish." If it's legit then post the pics.

I'm just going to delete this thread, I wasn't expecting everyone to bombard me saying it's not real and its not worth my effort to keep up with this, frankly it's insulting. I'm just going to do a private local sale.
