I'm looking into buying an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro and it comes with the pro buckers which are supposed to have a PAF style tone to them. I'd really love to drop in some Dimarzios but how great a difference is there? I'm looking for something that can pack a lot of punch and maintain clarity, something similar to Between The Buried and Me. I'm open to any feedback and suggestions! I'd like to be able to buy them in gold to match the hardware.

Not sure about the tone you are after, but the Probuckers seem to be nicely regarded, comparing to the traditional Epi pickups. I am a modder at heart, but from what I've heard of them, I would not have trouble keeping those on a guitar. Probably not the best for prog, but between clean, blues, rock, classic metal, stoner, grunge, etc, they seem at ease.

I was shopping for an inexpensive guitar to take on the road
with me, I'm a truck driver, well I was looking for a single pickup
Les paul junior when I spotted the custom, and gave it a try., well,
I knew it was for me after only a minuite or so, the pickups are very
Versatile and a les paul is super simple to set up, here it is in the
Sleeper in my semi tractor trailer
