Tonight, I finished up the first set for Strandberg 8 string multiscale guitars. This set is going to Dave Dunsire, who is currently touring with The Fine Constant, and will replace the EMG's he currently has. This is the highest DC resistance pickup I've made yet, largely due to the bridge bobbins being so much longer than normal 8 string bobbins.

    Bridge:
21.5kohm, ceramic bar magnet, alnico IV magnets on the south bobbin, alnico V magnets on the north bobbin
    Neck:
15.6kohm, alnico V magnets all around.

Magnet heights are radiused to match the theoretical radius across the strings, so Dave can put them as close to the strings as necessary, and not have a drop in volume/tone. Tops are bookmatched curly baked maple.

    Looking awesome, Adam!

My pickups arrived and they sound incredible! Installed into my current guitar and they're easily on par with my Lundgrens.

Thanks, Adam. Keep up the fantastic work

Samark, how do they compare to the Lundgrens.

I am a Lundgren M user myself so i am really curious about that

    "Jed" Drogo. (FTFY)

Anyway, all jokes aside, those pickups look absolutely fantastic!

Also, Kudos for doing this work on slanted pickups. This ought to be a huge step forward for the multiscale market, knowing that one can get non-rail aftermarket pickups that look nice on multiscale instruments is a substantial hurdle cleared.

Another great looking set arrived, this one for Donny Burbage of Æther Realm.

Donny said he plans on doing clips, hopefully he has time before they leave for their Europe tour!

There's been an uptick in multiscale builds lately, so here's a couple of the latest.

This set is going to Agape Guitars, I believe for the ebony topped (or is it Richlite?) build in his thread:

And this set is a replacement for the stock pickups in a RAN 8 string multiscale:

Was a challenge to get the RAN pickups to match the string spacing since I didn't have the guitar on hand to check (and the bottom of the RAN pickups being sealed up with silicon), but between magnetic viewing paper and having the customer print templates, I think it'll work out well.

Brilliant work, Adam! I'm going to commission another custom, just so I can get some more pickups off you. Maybe time to try a multi-scale :D

Looking forward to seeing your next updates

I'd also like to hear how they compare as the Lungren M is currently my main squeeze.

I've been planning on a set of these for my Mayones but I've been sidetracked a couple of times with stuff breaking and needing fixing (both guitar related stuff and not).

Made a couple of sets for Frets4Vets.org, an organization dedicated to helping veterans battle PTSD and depression through music.

The Tele pickups are for the bridge position and the Strat pickups are for the neck. All of them feature the Tuned Aperture bit, and it's installed under the unwound strings, giving them a little more warmth and volume than you'd typically get from a single coil. The bridge pickups measure in at 9.8k, the neck pickups 7.5k, and the magnets are Alnico V.

Donny Burbage provided me with some DI clips, feel free to check them out here:

    http://www.elysianpickups.com/Elysian_Obsidian_DI_-_Donny_Burbage.zip

These are the modern wind, with Alnico V slugs in the inner coils, and ceramic bar magnet (specifically the Obsidian model, named by Kenny Gerbick of Arsonwave), installed in his Ibanez S series with Edge Zero trem.

Long time no post. Last night I tried out the first prototype P-bass pickups, they worked out really well, exactly what I was looking for. I've also wound a Tuned Aperture P90 set, going to test that out soon. Here's the pickups I made for Agape Guitars, routed in and sitting in the holes:

Can't wait for Rich to get this one strung up, it's looking killer with that Richlite insert.

I made this set for a Frets4Vets guitar:

And Tom put this on the backplate, thought that was really cool:

Both of those pickups are Tuned Aperture of course.

Minor stuff today. Made a trem cavity cover for the Espada I just sold, the owner of it wanted textured ABS instead of gloss plastic.

Did a black metal covered set and an ebony topped set for Goliath Guitars. These pickups are standard spec for all Goliaths.

They're both wound to 13.9k bridge, 11.5k neck.
