I think I remember that bottom V design from a post you did here ages ago. Wasn't there a darker colored guitar that you made in that shape?

No, I've not made either of the V's or the Explorer yet. I've done some Rhoads V's before.

Worked on the inlays for the Nautilus today:

Also worked on a t-shirt design for the Kickstarter:

    I like them both!

    ...the V designs, that is.

Are those inlays doubling as side markers? Because that's outstanding.

Edit: Definitely jumping on board your kickstarter when it comes up. Clever design with the underscore referencing your pickups.

Nah they're on the wrong side for that, unless Rob wants to channel his inner rock star or something  He did specifically want them going to the edge like that though.

That V design is, I believe, similar to what the CrabClaw eventually became.

It is, but that project was never competed  I think it's still in my mom's garage.

Did you take down all of the photos of that guitar from the site? I found the thread (it was from seven years ago!), but the pictures were all replaced with little red x's. I guess wherever they got posted isn't there anymore, since it's been so long. I said it back then, but I'll repeat that I dig that design.

Not sure what happened to be uploaded where  Thanks!

I didn't even think of those! Need to remedy that.

    Speaking of:

Inlays done on this, fretboard is sanded to 320 grit, and the clamping caul for the radius is cut so I can fret it tomorrow.

Forgot all about the guitar you're working on! The Nautilus def needs some T-shirt love.

I generally don't like headless designs but the Nautilus is pretty sweet

Haven't been very vigilant with my updates to this thread, so how about a massive photo dump?

I'm still about 50% sure you have to be dipping the bodies in glass or something while I'm not looking to get glosses that smooth.

Adam, for your new pickup design, have you considered making the bobbins asymmetric to match the coils? I think it would look cool, because you'd be able to see immediately that they were doing something different.

Koll Guitars has done that (as everyone has been quick to point out to me on other forums after I posted). My whole thing is to have the pickups look stock, and fit into stock holes. The one thing I have considered is to do a pickup that's kind of X2N like, but having a big asymmetrical bar instead.
