They're copying the model of reverb with a 3.5% fee for any guitars/guitar accessories and 350$ max fee. :hbang:

Translation: Reverb has been killing the eBay guitar market. I'm still sticking with Reverb, but it's good to see more competition for given sales platform.

Really? since when? That's great news because sometimes it's harder to sell items on Reverb, not enough traffic . Ebay just sells things faster IMO.

Nice. I like reverb too, but their search algorithms suck. Type "8 string guitar" in and you get loads of random crap. It makes it super difficult to wade through everything. eBay is easier, but no one is left selling on there.

Reverb reminds me more of earlier eBay, more wading through crap, but better deals overall.

The killer reverb features are those saved searches with notifications. On ebay I have a big saved search url I have to check every day, on reverb I can sort of rely on them emailing me if something special comes in. Except, it's usually like 18 hours late, so I still have to check for the stuff I'd get sniped over...

Reverb does have better deals, I feel that is because there just isn't enough traffic and sellers are forced to lower their prices because no one is buying. I could be wrong though. I only discovered Reverb a few months ago and have tried selling there, I always list on ebay and reverb at the same time, and usually Ebay gets me quicker sales. I just sold an amp on Ebay a day after posting it.

The new fees make me happy! Just sold an amp for $340, and the fee was around $11 bucks

    so is it temp?

i called ebay today and this guy was almost arguing with me telling me that i'm wrong that it's always been 10% and still is. even though i showed him proof of my last listings only being charged 3.5%. he said it was just a promotion most likely. but idk because he has no clue

Still prefer to suppot reverb. Most guys have trasitioned over to the, and I see better deals and selection. It has some quirks but its more gear friendly IMO.

Yeah I think it's permanent, it was implemented on the 10th of this month.

The ebay representative that I spoke to yesterday nearly argued with me telling me there was never a change , then he put me on hold for 10 minutes and came back to tell me I was right. and issued me a refund for some fees. there was a glitch and I was charged 10% on one item, and 3.5% on 3 others.

lets hope ebay doesn't get greedy and raises them back up.
