I know some of you guys will dig this. It might be my favorite album of last year (way to stay current ). Not sure what to call this.... maybe post-stoner-prog? Something like Intronaut. Not that they sound all that similar, but same sort of vibe.

All attempts to classify aside, it's really a great record. I think you should check them out. :yesway:

I see there are at least a few other people with taste. I was getting worried when the Emmure album thread had more positive responses than this one.

Myspace link is in the OP, a bit lost in the clutter though. Quite a few songs on there. I think their Facebook page has some too (can't check at work).

seven string band + sevenstring.org = more attention. but i could give a rats ass how many strings East of the Wall plays because i enjoy the art of their music. found out about them through Metalsucks via the sampler they put out. really top notch stuff, im still sifting through the music finding the nuance. i need to be in the right mood to listen to these guys tho, cuz if im in a hurried frame of mind i cant listen to this, but when its chill out time i play them and a few other bands. i like how they fill the space in their music where other post bands are IMO too minimalistic

p.s. i want them and Intronaut to tour together

    cheers

I've been a fan of theirs ever since I heard their 4 song EP they put out like 5 years ago or so. Some of the members used to be in The Postman Syndrome, if anyone remembers them.

They played a tiny little show in an art gallery in Minneapolis about 8 months ago - they were some of the nicest guys you'll meet. It's really too bad more people don't get into them, though I understand why. An Intronaut/EOTW tour would be pretty goddamn awesome though. :D

EDIT: everyone just checking out this thread now should listen to their song Fool's Errand

Entire new album is streaming at Brooklyn Vegan => stream East of the Wall's new LP, see them on tour, at CMJ

I've had my physical copy for about a week now (because Translation Loss is awesome), and it's easily my favorite album of 2011. It's a progressive "post-metal" album that doesn't get boring.
