I'm on the look for some more doom metal. I'm looking for melodic, romanticy cake boy style doom. Something similar to My dying bride, swallow the sun, colosseum, draconian , daylight dies, and agalloch

Some others that i'm into as far as doom bands are Warning, solitude aeturnus, paradise lost, novembers doom, neurosis, mournful congregation, insomnium, katatonia, disembowelment, candlemass, burzum, arcturus.

    Shoot.

    Marius Strand's solo project:

There's just one full length and one EP, but his songwriting is spectacular. :yesway:

I enjoy Lake of Tears, all I have at 8:30 am though. They have a pretty wide spectrum of sound, the only album is pretty synthy. Interesting stuff.

Mournful Gust - think: underrated, sweet, romantic, bitter, furious, soothing, totally awesome,

    and

Virgin Black - dark, mystical, piercing, mournful, yet hopeful

You could also check out Saturnus, but that's sweeter, more melodic doom in the vein of middle-era Anathema. Still cool, but does not compare to the bands I've posted above in terms of originality...

I bought We Live and Black Masses yesterday at the local record store.

Needless to say, it was pretty awesome.

Black Masses is alright at best, but pretty much everything else they've released is doom to live by

The fundamental problem with Electric Wizard is that Dopethone is more or less impossible to top. In that vein though...
