This one is done, waiting for pickups from Ethan @ Instrumental pickups to supply the pickups + templates. It's getting gold hipshot single saddles.

Took a family shot last weekend. Going to be very busy for the next month. Just the way I like it! :)

7 string futura > 6 string SHS neck thru > Holloways 8 strang > 7 string headless, fanned > 6 string headless, curly birch top > fanned SHS, neck thru. Ziracote J logo inlay

Speaking of that SHS..... I got 'er oiled up today. Pickups arrived yesterday, made the templates and routed them last night, and finish sanded it today. 2 weeks ahead of schedule, even with the 3 weeks of waiting for the pickups to be made.

Is that the curly birch? It looks good but I was wondering at the bookmatching...

What's up with the fretboard behind the first fret (Nut?) on the SHS? Is that an add on?

In the group shot it looks completely disconnected, grain direction and pattern doesn't line up.

Definitely looks like a separate piece of wood behind the first fret.

Bookmatching was done in Cali, from Tonewoods.com. Redwood bookmatches inversely, since the figure comes from hard/soft growth.
Here's the first pic I have of it when it arrived.

Just gonna keep all my posts to this thread, until the next batch of guitars get started. I dont want to flood the forum with all of my threads!

Anyways, Im on Instagram now after being fed up with all of Facebook's limitations on spreading your posts. Lots of posts to come (once I get used to taking square photos), check it out https://instagram.com/juliusjahnluthier/

This was made from SCRAP wood. Amazing what nature can do.

Ah, another case of the missing facebook photo!
This was from earlier, just naptha while I wait for the final payment! (notice the lack of logo and recessed bridge saddles)

Here's that FB polish you love so much Pat!

and close up of the moon inlays. Surprisingly easy, once I figured out how to hold on to a 1mm wide sliver of pearl....

I'll be re-posting all of the photos that got moved/deleted earlier in the thread this week or the next, as the 7 string futura is being finished now and I'll have some updates for that.

Hollowway stop having such damn nice guitars being built. The three OAF's and this one are absolutely killer!

Man, that's no joke. In a shop environment those lenses just don't last long. I have to snap a dozen progress shots just to get one worthy of posting, it seems.
