Apologies if I got anyone's hopes up, I think this is a single with a B side (Eve) until the actual album comes out.

    I could be wrong.

Love it. They've got a formula, it doesn't change much - but who cares.

I remember reading someone say that Converge is this generation's Black Flag.

So glad I got into these guys, just recently too (couple weeks ago). All anyone ever talks about is Jane Doe- which I really couldn't stand, so I never explored the bands full catalog for YEARS up until now, and man, there's a TON of amazing stuff there. The whole DIY approach they have makes me happy too.

Kurt is the fucking riff master. I swear every thing he plays is so sick.

    Heard Under Duress this morning.
Definitely my favorite from the 3 I've heard so far. Pretty hype for the album.

So stoked for this. I saw them last week and all the new songs absolutely crushed.

I bought their last album randomly after seeing it in a store and seeing it labelled "best new release" a few places. Aimless Arrow blew my face off, and I listened to the album a whole bunch of times. It's very technical, but in a super raw and immediate way. GREAT stuff.

I still haven't gone backwards, even though I've had five years to, but I know I should.

I got When Forever Comes Crashing, No Heroes and Axe to Fall at various used sales and haven't gotten around to listening to them yet. I think I'll put them on tonight and see what happens!

I know Jane Doe is the biggest name one, but haven't seen it for sale anywhere. I tend to be resistant to buying digital copies when it's an old, somewhat popular album like that which I KNOW I'll find in a used/discount bin at some point! IIRC Jane Doe and Botch's "We The Romans" were the big names recommended along with DEP's Calculating Infinity back when I listened to that album. I was more of a metalhead :(

Everything from Jane Doe onward absolutely is 10/10 for me. I think You Fail Me and Axe To Fall are my faves.

Jane Doe is so good that it kinda sorta inhibits my enjoyment of all the other Converge albums... just because it's so many leagues better than anything else they(or practically anyone)'ve ever done. Not really fair to those other albums because they're totally great, and I listen to them all the time, but they simply don't even hold a candle to Jane Doe.

That's funny because I'm kind of glad I don't enjoy Jane at all for this exact reason.
I have this same problem with Misery Signals, where the rest of their discography (while still great) just absolutely pales in comparison to Of Malice and the Magnum Heart. Which is how I first found Converge, actually; it seems those two records are mentioned in the same breath quite often.

IMO Axe to Fall is their best all-rounder, but All We Love We Leave Behind has some of their best songs. Trespasses just absolutely slays.

Unpopular opinion time: Jane Doe might be my least favorite release. Tbh I'm always torn between You Fail Me and When Forever Comes Crashing. YFM just has that rhythmic complexity that I love, but WFCC is raw AF and has mosh riffs for days.
