Well it has been a few months since I first received my Conklin GT-7 off of here. Anyways I thought I should give a review now that I have had it for a while.

I will use a 6:)evil:) as the best possible rating.

Quality:
Seems pretty solid. Nice Sperzel locking tuners. There are some finish cracks near the neck joint. The GT-7T has excellent tuning stability so long as you don't use the tremolo.

Appearance:
Looks amazing. The transparent red over the Cherry wood is beautiful. Very cool headstock design. The only thing I would change is to have black hardware instead of chrome.

Playability:
Neck feels great. The low profile frets actually compliment my heavy handed playing style.

    Comfort:
Pretty good. My only gripe is the slightly raised edge on the perimeter of the body. It looks cool, but it digs into your arm.

Tone:
I was amazed with the tone. It has a very nice warm clean tone on the neck setting and good bite on the bridge setting. The overdriven sounds are good, but the GT-7T could stand to have a little more clarity and growl.

i didnt have any complaints with mine. I actually like the stock pickups. i want to try some others out, but thats just out of curiosity, and not cause they don't sound good.

Could one of you get me a better picture of the trem? It looks like it could be the same one on my Strat-VII, and I need a replacement bar for it...

I like it. It keeps my cord snug in the input jack.

Actually that pic was taken by the guy I bought it off of. My cam sucks. Sorry. :noplease:

Buying my GT7 was the best $450 I've ever spent on music equipment. Every time I go to Guitar Center (rare - that place is 30,000 sq ft of headache) I play a few guitars and they always suck in comparison. Gibson necks are too fat, Jacksons and Ibanezes are set up with tiny strings and no tension...blech. Give me that thin wide slab of a Conklin neck and that beautiful spade headstock any day of the week.

And yes, the Neutrix jack is very nice.

I still have my Conklin and love it. It is such a solid guitar and they are getting very hard to find these days.
