Well it has been a few months since I first received my Conklin GT-7 off of here. Anyways I thought I should give a review now that I have had it for a while. I will use a 6evil as the best possible rating. Quality: Seems pretty solid. Nice Sperzel locking tuners. There are some finish cracks near the neck joint. The GT-7T has excellent tuning stability so long as you don't use the tremolo. Appearance: Looks amazing. The transparent red over the Cherry wood is beautiful. Very cool headstock design. The only thing I would change is to have black hardware instead of chrome. Playability: Neck feels great. The low profile frets actually compliment my heavy handed playing style. Comfort: Pretty good. My only gripe is the slightly raised edge on the perimeter of the body. It looks cool, but it digs into your arm. Tone: I was amazed with the tone. It has a very nice warm clean tone on the neck setting and good bite on the bridge setting. The overdriven sounds are good, but the GT-7T could stand to have a little more clarity and growl.
