    Hi everyone,

Looking for opinions and a bit of help. I want to get a guitar to play melodic death/progressive metal. I want a fast neck where solos can be played with ease but also the depth of the 7th string. I use super slinky strings. (9-52)

My preferred options so far are Schecter C7 SLS, Schecter Apocalypse C7 or building a Kiesel C7 carved top.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thank you!

    Also:

    - Preferences on scale lenght? 25.5" or 26.5"?
    - Fixed bridge or Floyd?
    - Budget?
    - Any particular pickup preferences?

I recently tried a Schecter Hellraiser and I was impressed with its playbility. Ultra-fast neck.

Ibanez RGD series is a good bet because of their necks and 26.5" scale length. If you're willing to spend that much money on a Kiesel, I'd consider getting a RGD7UCS or RGD3127, or finding a used RGD2127 (Z if trem, FX if fixed bridge) if you want to save a lot.
