Howdy! Ok so I recorded a band and they want some backing tracks for live. I'm under the impression that this is a service that I should be charging for? (never had to do it for someone else so) If so what is the usual going rate per song? Thank you!

I've only seen this done in a commercial recording studio. They charged their regular hourly rate.

So just charge em whatever you think your time is worth.

I would charge your normal rate for the time, and if they don't like that, charge $40 to bounce out the stems and they can make their own.

As in they want backing tracks without certain parts or do they want complete stems of every single track they recorded?
