Is there a Celestion speaker that is really similar to the Eminence Swamp Thang?

Why do you want a Celestion equivalent? Eminence are generally less expensive and jusat as good in terms of build quality.

I was thinking about getting an Avatar cab, and I wanted to get Swamp Thangs but i heard you have to pay extra for them to get Eminence.

I tried, but haven't found anything about getting custom speakers in.

What Celestion has a lot of low end like the Swamp Thang does, there should be a comparison chart.

The G12K-100 is probably the closest Celsestion, but it's still going to have a bit of that Marshall flavor that the Swamp Thang might not have.

+1 i just got a pair for my orange cab and love them. I think i actually prefer a mix of the v30/g12k. I had a earcandy cab with swampthangs never liked them maybe if it was paired with something with mids..

The g12k100's I'd say are your closest bet.

I use a combo of swampys and g12k100's in my rig, with the swampys in my ear candy cab and the G12k100's in my Marshall MF400 cab. They're much more present in the mids, but don't have that same "floor" to 'em that the swamp thangs have.

Still, a very different speaker from the swamp thang. Each speaker brings its own strengths to the table though.

Perhaps just order an unloaded cab and order the speakers you want separately? That's what I'd do.

    That's what I did, I recommend lopo.

I got the slant 4x12 and I think the build quality is on par with any high end cab. They are also frontloaded as opposed to rear, which some say results in better low end.

I've got swamp thangs and tonkers in mine, sounds pretty ace I think.

durability seems on par with anything else out there. I did replace the casters with larger heavy duty ones. The stock ones seemed flimsy, but they look the same as the ones that are on the vader my buddy just got. I haven't dropped it from a large height or anything, and I've got some small tears in the tolex, but I gig fairly regularly and don't exactly baby my cab.

I can say that I'm very pleased with my purchase and would do it again.
