I am looking to replace the bottom, and maybe the top, but definitely the bottom pickup in my Caparison Horus, I want something good for metal ( all genres) that really stands out.

Something that really pops. Josh Groban likes his ladies to pop.

Anyone have any good ideas what I should get?

I'm just really having a time finding pickups that stand out to me, but are good for metal too.

I had a set of black winters and thought they were amazing. I also really like the bkp painkiller in my rga, but that one might be a more acquired taste sound wise. As far as a neck black winter, if it's a single coil one your looking for then you can order that from the SD custom shop.

what's wrong with the stock pickups?

Pretty much any pickup will do metal in standard tuning, depending on the rest of your rig.

I have a Fishman Modern bridge and SC neck in my Horus. Quite like the tones from that combo.

+1 for the Fishman Fluence Modern.
Clear as BKP pickups, tight as EMG 81 but very organic and dynamic.
And you have the option to use the active or passive mod with just one knob and you can split it.

Have you thought of trying actives?

In my experience, I've found that there's really no such thing as a "Metal" pickup per se. I've heard super heavy tones out of P90s (Sab's Vol. 4), stock Ibanez humbuckers (HH, CF, Triptykon), and so forth. Pickups are like the final icing on the cake, but the "metal-ness: of your tone, imo, is more influenced by your amp and speaker selection.

I ended up going with the fishman fluence modern in the bridge and single in the neck ( alcino)

I'll see how it sounds when i get it back from the tech. And the reason I was looking is because the neck pickup was bad, and i had to replace it, so I figured might aswell get some pickups I like better.
