Cab recommendations?

    Hey guys so I have a 150 watt Line 6 Spider III, but I bought an Axe-Fx earlier this year so i'm looking to sell the amp and buy a cab so I can just use my Axe-Fx as a head. I know a lot of bands that play my style use orange cabs, so I was thinking of looking into those, but any recommendations would be awesome. I play progressive metal if that helps. Thanks!

    my vote is for a marshall 1960 lead cab, lots of people hate on them but i'd take one over an orange anyday

    Orange would be a great choice. You do understand that you will need a power amp to use your axe fx with a cab right?

    You will need a poweramp. If you want something more affordable, check out the Carvin TS100 if you wanna go tube, or the Rocktron Velocity 300 if you wanna go solid state.

    If you're interested in Orange style cabs, check out Avatar's Contemporary lineup. Exact dimensions as the PPC cabs, but you get your choice of tolex/grillcloth and speakers :yesway: They're awesome cabs, too. A loaded 4x12 will run you $579. Great guys to deal with, too.

    My experiences:

    -ENGL oversized (around 2005) (best cab I have ever heard, no idea what speakers, (v30?) amp was a 5150 in 50w two powertube mode) 10/10
    -Randall Randall XLT100 [no casters on] (very flat, very good, sounds amazing cranked w/5150 100w w/Ibanez TS9) 9/10
    -Mesa oversized V30's (great with a mid spike some don't like, amp was ENGL Powerball V1) 8/10
    -Mesa over sized V30/G12T-75 (A little bright Amp was ENGLPowerball V1) 7/10
    -Marshall 1960A (too bright, scooped slightly in a bad way) 5/10
