Black on the silver part of my blackwinter

    So I got these new Blackwinter pickups in, and there's this stuff on the silver parts ( magnets?), not sure if normal.

    They colored the poles black. Totally normal.

    you can actually scratch it off with your finger nails. it happens. I've bought new SD's with the same thing.

    If it's waxy then it's buffing compound from the buffing wheel. Sometimes they shine them at the end if necessary.

    they color them before they bevel the poles? that's weird but I guess it depends on the production process
