Does anyone else here have trouble playing while wearing wheelchair gloves? Going fingerless seems obvious, but I’m worried any loose threads or frayed material will get caught/in the way.

I once cut the backs out of a pair of boxing gloves so I could play guitar in a ‘beat up Rocky’ outfit

They do something similar in GWAR, but in my case I’m referring more to textured, tactile, form fitting gloves. I don’t want to have to take then off and on while switching between guitar and everything else.

Maybe a pair of ‘Mechanics’ brand gloves and cut the fingers...?

Plasti Dip your hands but use painters tape over your fingers. About 6 coats should be perfect. The matte Dip sounds better than gloss IME.

I understand modifying gloves to work for guitar playing but knowing what else you plan on using them for might help give us some ideas...ie: if it needs palm padding like chair gloves etc

It's a bit of a kludge, but I just take the garden-variety cotton work gloves that you buy for $3/dozen at the store and cut the fingers, then stitch the cuts before they frey. I imagine you could probably dip the ends in wax or heat them and get a similar result.

I had a pair of leather fingerless gloves I found at home depot, just plain brown leather when I was 18, theres some fancier looking ones these days

Just wondering : what are gloves useful for when playing guitar ? I was surprised to see there was a brand specifically dedicated to guitar-playing gloves, that's a whole new world to me
