Yeah, I like guitars that aren't too gussied up. No binding, nothing too fancy. A more stripped look is a more to my taste.

*Though I was wondering about the bridge. I like simple bridges, but the absence of a floating trem...well, that's something I wonder about.

Thanks. Yeah, me too. The key thing for me is the carved top. That's when the Regiuses started looking more angular and tasteful, to my eyes. Before they were a bit 'blobby'.

Love the Regius, especially since they added the carved top. Real stunner you got too.

Shoutout to the Hevy Devy tuning!

HNGD! Raw wood have always been a thing for me, and this is a perfect example.

Yeah, me too. All of Mayo's G's are beauts. But I stay away from the Duvell because it reminds me of a really nice RG, and my Ibanez days are behind me. And the Setius just seems like...well...the poor man's Regius ;)

Yeah I’m the same. Only Mayo guitar I really like outside of their real old school shredders is the Regius. I thought the old ones looked and sounded great, but were quite uncomfortable on the forearm. The carve looks awesome and I’m sure makes it way more comfortable.

Good lord that is absolutely badass! Perfect Mayo. Finger lickin’ good. Congrats!!! Nice tuning choice for some SYL and DTP tunes. Any idea what kind of pups you want to swap? High output? Mid? Low? There’s some awesome darker options in the BKP range, if you’re looking to be brand loyal. Obviously major subjective thoughts go into that choice, and tone goals. But congrats again! It’s gorgeous!

You can't see it, but i'm throwing "likes" and money at my screen right now.

Now THAT is a great instrument. You nailed the look, and that 27" neck is perfect.

I'm not sure right now. I'm probably going to stay with the BKP line, and I'm thinking a few options: maybe the Holy Divers; maybe even the Warpigs, but I'd go for the ceramic bridge to just give them a bit more tightness. I hate flub, but I also hate wheezing. I like bark and grunt, right in the middle. Tight and articulate, but still thick. I'm finding the Juggs wheeze a bit too much. I made a post about it in the pups forum, if you want to check it out.

I was also very interested in the Black Dogs too...they appear to have this wonderfully round sound.

Thanks. Yeah, the 27" neck has taken a bit of getting used to, actually. I like it, but it's definitely noticeable. I was a bit surprised. it's a different playing experience. I'm also finding that it makes the guitar a bit stiffer, even though I just have a pair of 10's on there, with a .70 on the low G.

One thing about the neck though that I do take some issue with is its width--that is, the space from the bottom to the top of the fretboard. Mayo's necks are a bit wider here, and it takes a bit of getting used to. Obviously this means that the spacings between the strings is slightly larger, and I found my alternate picking was getting lost between strings. If I had to change one thing, it'd be that the neck be a bit more narrow in this respect. Compare a CU24's neck, which is on the smaller side. I like that.
