    Dunn Effects Redeemer preamp pedal.
Suppose to recreate the 5150 preamp with multiple jfet gain stages. Seems like it has a lot of potential and versatility. Has anyone tried one?

I played an early prototype of this pedal at a guitar trade show that Matt was at. He is a local St. Louis guy. I recall it actually sounded pretty great at the time, along with most of his other pedal offerings that he was demoing. I believe it has undergone multiple revisions and tweaks since that time.

I've spoken to Matt on a few occasions, very pleasant to deal with and very knowledgeable about his line of work. Any of his stuff I have played on has been high quality. I fully intend to grab a pedal or two of his whenever I get my hands on an amp I have been waiting for is completed, which will serve as a dirt pedal based rig. Maybe not super helpful to what you are looking for but that is my limited experience.

Actually just got one off of Reverb last night. I've been looking for a 5150 in a box for a long time.

I picked up a DE1984 off him which is also a 5150 preamp type pedal, and it's absolutely phenomenal. Matt is a top notch guy, really helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a Shoggoth and Green Priest off him as well, and they're also fantastic, the Shoggoth is never coming off my board.

Awesome! Good to know. From what I've read the Redeemer is just an updated version of the DE1984 with a 2 channel knob layout instead of the 1. Are you running it in front of your amp or through the effects return?

This is true. While I don't own one, I do follow his social media and receive his newsletter.

Straight through the front end, and I have to say, it's a pretty accurate representation of that 5150 sound. I haven't yet tried it through the loop, but I'll give it a go and report back.

Please DO! Would love to try it if it sounds good as a preamp, not a distortion pedal

Oooo! Let us know what you think please! Do you own or have experience with a 5150/6505 to compare the redeemer to by any chance?

Will do. Had a 6505 for 4-5 years a while back. Played many practices and shows with it so am very familiar with the sound.

I'll be running it through the power amp of my Landry LS100 G3 with EL34s but should give a good approximation of the sound.

No experience with the redeemer but if it's as good as my apostle OR120 preamp was I'm sure you won't be disappointed
