Mark IV for hi gain/clean or everything between and 5150III. Both nail modern metal sound but are obviously very different and complement each other. Mark II and Engl Savage models are also pretty nice.

Yes, it's Psycho C and Mark IV is M4. I tried Recabinet 5 at some point, but free ir-loaders like NadIR or Rosen Digital Pulse does the job. Depends how many IR's you want to mix together or shape the sound of them more in the loader plugin.

I always default to the OgreTuber. Since IR's came into play I also say paid IR's are 10x better than free. I have used God's Cab, Catharsis, Misha's Zilla, etc. etc. When I got the Celestion Creamback75 it was an immediate and very noticeable improvement over all of them.

I use the Psycho C with NadIR. Using the free Ownhammer Impulses from a Mesa 4x12 I get really good sounds out of it.

    Love Kazrog.

Personally I am a fan of blending the FB100 and Damage 120 models.

Curious how everyone is setting up the amps and eqs etc. I hear the input trim and output trim and saturation is crucial to the tone. Also interesting that nobody is using recabinet and choosing a different ir loader? Why?

It's really dependent on the guitar and pickups, my man. But, you are making a valid assessment about the input trim and output trim being important to dialing in a good sound at proper levels.
What I usually do is load the model (i typically use the same set of IRs since I know how they sound) and then I load in each preset thats close to the tone I'm after in my head then proceed to tweak to my liking from that starting point.

if I can't quite get the sound I'm after (say a bit too dark or a bit too bright) I'll switch which mic I am using on the IR but keep the cabinet the same.

the Serpent with a nice IR is fucking tiiiiiiiiiiiight.

The Fueled Silver adds a lot of low end in the mix though which is dope

Serpent with a boost (TSE 808 or Mercuriall Grid Slammer) is incredible. And it’s free. Unbelievable. It does great cleans. A decent crunch. And an amazing high gain distortion with lots of mids. Totally understand why Killswitch Engage used them.
