Digging this (a lot), kinda different from the other stuff I've heard from you.

Great already, going to be killer when Mattayus fiddles with it!

    Cheers, guys! :)

I don't really find it to be that different from what I do in the sense that you'll find some harmonic twists I tend to do and the same approach to melody (or so I think), and it fits with the others in the album nicely. The fun part of this, however, is how we all have a different experience as listeners - it's a huge stimulus, to be honest. :metal:

Interesting sound. The crunchy low-end textures mix oddly well with the overly clear lead playing.

I liked the timing/use of that double-kick section letting it rip near the end, which makes me wonder where the drumming was the whole song. I'm sure you could have more variety in the drumming sections without it taking away all of the focus from your lead playing.

The drumming is there all the time, but I prefer to use it dynamically (much like the lead playing itself, which I limit severely to prevent the "shredfest" feel). That way, when you get the double bass happening in the end, you have a climax to something, the culmination of a crescendo that has a slight breather in the middle, as opposed to a more straightforward, hard hitting metal drum track. I'm intrigued by the "more variety" comment, though - you have straight double bass, 7/8 in tandem with 5/4, toms being used as enhancements of a beat when things get less in your face, dynamics going up and down along the track, and the like. What were you getting at (genuine question here)?

It's my personal approach, of course, and I'd never be an arrogant prick to go "my way is the right one" or expect everyone to like my songwriting equally. Thanks for taking the time to listen, mate! :)
