...but I'm on my first listen to Bruce Dickenson's "Chemical Wedding." And man, this kicks ass. That is all

It absolutely does... why'd it take you so long? Dickinson's solo material is better than the I.M. stuff IMHO. Be it the proggy/quirky Skunkworks stuff or the heavier Chemical Wedding stuff.

I'm have been suprised if you weren't into this actually. I would have thought a whole album based on William Blake's poetry would be right up your street!

It is a fucking amazing album. Easily one of the best albums of the nineties.

 Actually, it was more the music that ruled - I didn't know it was based on Blake's poetry, nor am I really a massive fan, as I recall. I'm more the Alan Dugan type...

Either way, the music rules. :D

Its a painting by William Blake. I like the back picture more, though.

I didn't know a thing about this William Blake... only that he'd written 'Jerusalem' which was used as lyrics of a traditional english song I really like.
    I thought he was christian...

    'Shadows that cut'.:)

It's a reference to an obscure sci-fi series ('Faction Paradox'...I highly recommend it:)) where the protagonists carry weapons (usually knives or swords) that are bonded to their shadows, so they're totally invisible except as parts of their shadows.

Ostensibly he was, but it was a very very personal interpretation of Christianity that had a lot more in common with Gnosticism.

    And opium.

All the lyrics on the Chemical Wedding album are about William Blake Poetry. A lot of it is based off of the Book of Urizen & The Book of Thel (Obviously).
