I have the chance to get one of these for about $500, is it worth it if:

    • Plan on playing in mostly G# and A.
    • Will be doing extensive work with pod farm/home recording and possibly some gigging.
    • Have the chance to also get a Schecter C-7 for the same price

Some input would be very helpful cause I am at a stand still in my decision making process.

i would only go for the septor with either the EMGs or the SD blackouts, if i personally were to choose id go with the schecter because the qc tends to be a tad bit better but if you get the agile and you get a dud you can always exchange it for a new one.

It looks new still. I don't think it's been gigged at all.

If those are your only two options you're considering, I'd personally go with the Schecter, as I prefer a longer scale length for tuning that low. To intonate my RG7321 (25.5") in A, I had to remove the spring from the saddle so I could bring it all the way back.

I'm gonna test out the Agile for a while on Friday. Will update this after.

They're not all I am considering though, I would personally love to purchase a RAN crusher 7 or an RG1527 but I won't have the money for those for a good while.

Between Agile and Schecter, I'd pick the Schecter. They're pretty much the exact same guitar. Only difference (besides visual stuff) is that Schecter usually uses mahogany for their necks as well and they have the extended scale which will be better for what you're doing.

Don't get me wrong though. 25.5" can easily handle A and G#. Mine does it all the time. You just need thicker strings to do it. And thicker strings like to get muddy easier.

Yeah, I've owned the Schecter before and I loved it.. now someone else is offering me a Septor 727 Elite for $525. This site is awesome for finding deals but sometimes it makes me feel overwhelmed lol.

And it doesn't get a lot muddier either. It's barely even noticeable. If at all. So don't let that be your deciding factor. They're both about the same in terms of quality so just pick the one you like.
