Ive got an offer on a s7G solar 6 strings and an offer to buy a schecter km -7 guitar. I need another guitar for B tunings so... 6 or 7 doesn t matter, I just want the best one....S7g is more or less handmade? should I go for it or turn to a massproduced korean KM 7? what would be the best choice in quality?
they have the same price so...

    thanks for advice

S7G name is mud around here.

    Get the KM7 IMO.

Sure S7G at one point may (please read as unlikely) have made some guitars that were decent, and yes they were hand made. But the general rule of thumb is stay the hell away from them. Use the search function for more info on the badness of S7G.

S7G have a terrible quality control record and often produced lemons rather than other more desirable fruit, there are many tails of woe on this forum.

Schecter's Korean guitars which are much more consistent. I own a Korean made Banshee and its one of the best guitars I've owned given the price range.

    EDIT:

    Speaking of names being mud:

Hand-made by people who don't give a shit about quality and are just looking to make a quick buck at the expense of others.

Get the Schecter. Shit, get ANYTHING except the S7. I'd get one of those Indo-made $600 Washy Solars over a S7G.

Yeah, s7g are ....ed. Even the guitars that weren't fire wood were still not worth nearly the price paid. The KM7 is a great guitar with great features.

The KM7 looks pretty sick, and SG7 looks sketchy as hell. Go with the SG7 for sure! Just kidding  The Schecter seems to be the better of the two.

Can't speak for the S7 but I have a KM and it really is a solid guitar. Great features for the money.

    A little lesson on terminology:

When I took my old Roter to a local luthier for a little "touch up", he kindly told me that "we like to call this kind of guitars self-made rather than hand-made"

KM7: Well thought out guitar with great specs, quality pickups and (at least in my case) a great setup right out of the box thanks to Schecter's double-check stop in California before she shipped.

S7G: You're lucky if the truss rod is functional, the neck is likely more or less a barely-carved 2x4 and odds are high that there will be a litany of things wrong with the guitar you might not realize the first time you look at it if you don't have a decent eye for finding flaws. RUN FAR AWAY.

Did you ask the guy why he's trying to get rid of it? Regardless of what the seller tells you, you are substantially better off buying the KM7, no two ways about it. I would never buy anything produced by S7G, they are scamming, lying douchebags who churn out piece of shit after piece of shit and unfortunately for them their happy owners have posted enough pictures of the guitars to allow the flaws to become quite common public knowledge now. ;)

I was going to post on here "Get the Strictly 7" then put a bunch of spaces and a , but I honestly couldn't bring myself to do it.

You can search the forum here, but, basically, a lot of S7G's got out there with very fundamental problems, like the kind that cannot be repaired without major surgery.

Even assuming you get a decent one, with their reputation lately, your guitar might as well be covered in swastikas and say "Hitler" on the headstock.
