    really ?

I'm gonna have to listen to the final cut again. haven't heard it for a long ass time but from memory I don't put it at the top .I need to give it another chance

    not sure I can seperate
the wall , Dark side and Animals

    fuck it.
Dark side - even though it's mainstream I have to go dark side. every song so solid

    Threshold - Subsurface

Not a single bad song. Lots of solos that have the best possible choice of notes. And I don't even care much about solos.

To me, The Final Cut is their best album because is Roger Waters at his best. I also love Animals, but TFC is so dark and pessimistic... great music, great lyrics, great arrangements, everything is perfect.
My top 3 is TFC, Animals, Wish you were here

Hmm, never listened to Subsurface for some reason. I have Hypothetical, Critical Mass and Dead Reckoning, but for some reason that one escaped my notice.

I'll have to check out the solos on that one. The truth is that I've always been underwhelmed by Threshold's solos. The phrasing has always felt weak to me. Would Subsurface change my mind?

I think this has to be up with one of my favourite albums of all time, period.

So glad someone mentioned these guys, got to see them live last year in Australia. Awesome live!

For my post: Trivium, Shogun (the album and the song. Hot daymn).

They still have the same style of rhythmic phrasing. Sixteenth notes for one bar, triplets for one bar, dotted eights one bar etc. But the note choices make it for me personally.

Symphony X - V: The New Mythology Suite

Twilight In Olympus might be my favorite album from them, but V as a whole is rock fucking solid from start to finish both musically and conceptually

They may not sound like they used too, but I still enjoy their newer stuff. It's good but in a different way.

I've got to hard counter with Wolves Within.
In Dreams was a great album, don't get me wrong. But Wolves seemed to just take the great parts of In Dreams and the great parts of Rareform, smash them together, and then run it through one of my personal favorite mixes of all time. I know the production of that album is controversial but I love it.
